Here is what is happening at Baseball Ontario this week.

 

 

Middlemass Scholarship: Applications Due June 1st!

 

The R. Jack Middlemass Memorial Scholarship was established out of love for Jack and inspired by Jack’s love for baseball and its athletes. In the spirit of Jack’s desire to help others achieve, the fund assists aspiring young people inpursuit of post secondary education. In helping further their scholastic endeavours, the scholarship provides recipients with greater opportunity to excel in life and contribute to the community.

 

The recipient will:

· be a well-rounded OBA player of 18U age;

· be an active citizen of their community demonstrating good sportsmanship in the game of baseball;

· demonstrate enthusiasm and involvement in baseball and their community with a spirit of "giving back"; and

· require financial assistance to attend university or college (either in Canada or the United States)

 

 

Women's National Team to Host "Together for Women"

 

TUNE IN to baseball.ca on May 16th from 1 - 4pm EST!

 

The Canadian Women’s National Baseball Team hosts TOGETHER FOR WOMEN, an online fundraiser in support of The Canadian Women's Foundation that will showcase some of Canada’s best female athletes!

Special guests include Olympic hockey heroes Danielle Goyette, Becky Kellar-Duke and Cheryl Pounder, former Canadian soccer star Rhian Wilkinson, Chicago Cubs’ minor league hitting coach Rachel Folden and Sportsnet Hometown Hockey’s Tara Slone as feature guests.

 

Former Canadian major leaguers Joe Siddall and Phillippe Aumont will also be appearing along with Super Bowl champion Luke Willson of the Seattle Seahawks.

We are facing adversity like never before and want to speak with athletes on how we can make it through – together – while supporting a great cause!
