Cuba trip participants arrived back home mid March remarking "it was a great time and really successful".
The entire group of 75 had a wonderful week of relaxation and a good week of spring training.
The 17U's wanted to play more and practice less and were accommodated by a slightly younger team who matched them very well.
18U's had a tougher time, going up against an older team who were prepping for National Championships in a couple of months. They started out with 1 and a half days of practicing and then a few games, having not ever seen pitching like that. The Canadian climate's shortened baseball season and the 5 months off for our pitchers was in contrast to the older Cuban team.
On the last day participants went back to practicing with the Cuban players and coaches. Very high intensity for 2 hours which the boys enjoyed.
500 lbs. of donations was left with the 3 different teams WOBA participants played with; ball equipment, school supplies and the everyday necessities that they need.
Many friendships were made and the participants came away feeling very positive about their week.
