LEAGUE GAME NOTES:

  • Game start time should be discussed at the home plate meeting prior to the start of the game.  Both scorekeeper and umpire work together to determine the start time of game.
  • Run limits are to be used where applicable. No open innings in all divisions except 18u.
  • Pitch Count Tracking sheets to be completed and submit to WOBA Secretary if requested.
  • Reminder home team is to complete WOBA game sheet and submit to WOBA Secretary if requested.
  • Home team is to report the score online within 24hrs after the game.
  • Closed toe footwear must be worn by all participants including coaches.
  • Clarification on weather related suspension of games:  League games suspended due to weather are considered an official game if the home team is winning in the bottom of the 4th inning or after 1 hour of play.  If the game is not an official game, then it is wiped out and restarted fresh, unless both teams agree to resume where it left off.  The only reason where it was left off is if the teams have another game between each other and want to finish the rained-out game the same night. (Nov-2-16)
  • Copy of WOBA Handbook can be viewed under the tab "Manuals"

WOBA CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES:

  • With exception of bantam & midget, maximum runs per inning shall apply in all tournament games.
  • No time limit in all Championship Final games.
  • Mercy rule applies to all games.

Pitch Tracking NEW 2024... All OBA rostered players who pitch at a WOBA league game or tournament, must have their pitch count #s reported to their respective OBA team's head coach immediately after the game, so that the number of pitches can be reported onto the Arm Care app utilized by OBA.
Failure to report will result in suspension of coach.

Players may only pitch for the team they are rostered on if called across from a sister team.

Call-up players from a lower division may pitch (age-pitch limitations apply) except Rookie call-ups may not pitch.

BOD approved overage players are NOT permitted to pitch in any game. To be reported if violation occurs.

 Scenario Example #1:
A Player is rostered to local 11u team. They may be 9u, 10u or 11u age.
May NOT play in the age division below, in this case the 9u team.
May play on 11u sister team from their own local association, but may not pitch. This is referred to as "called across".
May make an appearance and play on a 13u team.  This is referred to as "called up". They may pitch but only at their age appropriate arm care #s.

 Scenario Example #2:
A Player is rostered to local 9u team.
May NOT play in the age division below, in this case the 7u team.
May play on another 9u team from their own local association.  This is referred to as "called across".
May make an appearance and play on a 11u team.  This is referred to as "called up". 9u players may NOT pitch as a call up.

 Scenario Example #3:
An approved overage Player is rostered to local 11u team. The player is 12 years old.
May NOT play in the age division below, in this case the 9u team.
May play on the 11u rostered team in any position except pitcher. Overage player may not pitch.
May play on 11u sister team from their own local association, but may not pitch. This is referred to as "called across".
May NOT make an appearance and play on a 13u team. The player made specific request and was approved for the designated 11u team and therefore are not eligible to play at 12u/13u.
NOTE: any violation of an overage player pitching is to be reported on the incident report form found under the tab "Online Forms"
