Effective for the 2025 season: Players may try out for any AAAA program operating within the Province of Ontario regardless of their residency without a release. Should the player be successful in making the team, no release is required.
Effective for the 2025 season: Non-High-Performance (NHP) playing rights for AAA and below programs are retained by the Local Association within which the player resides or the OBA Rep team with which the player was last rostered. For greater clarity, if a player from Brampton tries out for the Markham AAAA program and does not successfully make the team, that player must play AAA or below in Brampton, or obtain a release.
