Players & Coaches DON'T GET SUSPENDED... Please read
If a player attends any program which includes a camp, tryout or practice with a Non- OBA team between April 1 and Labour Day they can be suspended from their OBA team.

Attention Players and Parents,

Please be aware that Baseball Ontario will suspend OBA rostered players that attend a Non-recognized OBA team program, even a friendly tryout opportunity or practice, between April 1st and Labour Day.

Players who are suspended will not be allowed to play on their local OBA team for the remainder of the current season which includes OBA Provincial Championships.  Do not make that mistake.

If unsure please ask your local executive or WOBA executive member.  Additionally, WOBA does not allow players who are registered for a non-recognized program to play on league teams.

A current OBA recognized alternative program includes the franchises enrolled with Premier Baseball League (PBLO): Windsor Selects, London Badgers, Ontario Terriers, Ontario Royals, Ontario Yankees, Ottawa-Nepean Canadians, Ontario Outlaws.

Per OBA Constitution & Playing Rules Section P1.7, P1.12

a)  Where a player participates in a practice, game, tryout, evaluation or other baseball activity with a team that does not currently hold the player's playing rights without the authorization(s) required by P1.5, the player is subject to suspension by the OBA.

b) Any coach or manager, who allows a player to participate in any practice, game, tryout, evaluation or other baseball activity with a team that does not hold the player's playing rights without the authorization(s) required by P1.5, is subject to suspension by OBA.

Please be aware that organizations that distribute invitations for non-recognized alternative programs are aware of OBA rules and that a player is at risk of being suspended from their rep teams.
