Coaches to attend WOBA League Scheduling Meeting

Date:  Saturday, April 27

Location:  Kin Station, 555 Binning St., Listowel

Time:  All rookie and mosquito @ 10:30am
Peewee and above @ 12:30pm

Local associations are reminded to complete the Season Registration form, one form per local association, and provide their team fees on Saturday.  This form can be found and printed from the WOBA website  under the tab ‘Library/Forms’, >WOBA Supporting documents, > WOBA - Season Registration Form

The Code of Conduct Form for team coaches is also found in this same section of our website.  This is a mandatory form to be signed by all Coaches.  Please print and have all coaches and managers complete and sign the form.  This form is to be submitted by June 3rd BOD meeting, via your BOD rep.  Preferably if one form is printed per team and all coaches and the manager sign the same form.  Single coach forms are also available and would be completed by a coach who joins and partakes with a team later in the season.

In this same section of our website is the WOBA - League Team Declaration & Commitment to League Year-end Tournament Form.  This form is to be completed by each team and is to be submitted at our July 8th BOD meeting, via your BOD rep.  This form will let us know if your team will be attending our year-end championship tournament.

We will begin our meeting reviewing important dates and requirements.  The scheduling itself will begin after this portion of the meeting.

As in previous years, match-up sheets have been prepared for each team.  Although the minimum number of games for league commitment (to attend the year-end tournament) is 12, we suggest that teams schedule additional games  to allow for rainouts and cancellations.  If a team falls short on their league commitment there is a $75 per game fine.  The average league team last year scheduled approx. 16 games. There is no upper cap to the number of games a team may schedule.

Seeding for our year-end tournaments is based on the standings of a team’s first 12 games played.  The seeding itself is tabulated 3 weeks prior to the respective year-end.  This is to allow a convenor the following week, time to prepare the schedules and distribute to teams.  Please try to have your minimum of 12 games played by these dates.  Unplayed games will be counted as a tie for the purpose of seeding only.

·         Rookie July 14th

·         Mosquito & Midget July 21st

·         Bantam July 28th

·         Peewee August 4th

Match-up sheets are to be returned prior to the scheduler leaving the meeting.  Best efforts will be made to have all schedules loaded up onto the WOBA website by mid May.  At that time we ask that every team coach double check their schedule and report any errors to me.  Also check the contact section of our website to ensure your contact information is correct.

See you Saturday!
