Game Protest or Appeal
An appeal is heard strictly based on an error in the interpretation of the rules.
Umpire's judgment is not basis for an appeal.
Coach must declare to the umpire and the opposing coach that the game is under protest.
This must be done prior to the "next pitch" and be recorded on the game score sheet.
A game protest
WILL NOT
be considered or accepted after the game. If warranted, an incident report may suffice.
An 'appeal report' must be completed providing details: inning, score, number of outs, count on the batter, runners on base, rule being protested and reference #, reason for thinking that the rule was incorrectly applied.
$50 (cash) protest/appeal fee.
Protest Committee convenes: Convenor, an Umpire and 1 other.
Decision reported.
